New place, same old stuff

Has it been that long? I don’t know where the time has gone. Guess that is what happens after you reach certain milestones. For one, I didn’t retire, I quit. Still working but doing my own thing. I’ll keep sharing my food scrounges, plus my two wheel adventures. And the scrounge cats of course. Two cats are no longer with us, but two have adopted us for a total of 4 scroungy whiny whiskered furballs. We moved from the creek in 2019 to a place about 2 miles from the old home. No more floods and three flights of stairs to climb. Mr. Mike now has a garage to call his man cave, though I use it too.

Still on a low budget. I shop the warehouse markets and the bargain baskets in the overpriced grocery stores. Here is a scroungy version of poutine. I’m riding to Ontario this July so this is a practice run on a popular Canadian dish. Made from roasted brussels sprouts, diced ham, pan gravy, mashed potatoes (yes fries or hash browns would be excellent but I was tired) and cheese.

This one is still with us after 12 years. Sleeps most of the time. Glad to be here. Ya’ll welcome to drop in any time!

I previously worked as a news and sports photographer. Recently I have been enjoying wildlife photography. My approach toward bird photos is similar to sports photography. I attempt to capture mostly action and hopefully a unique perspective.
